Kona is tourist central and was a bit of a shock after Volcano and had us longing to head back to our “simple” life in our cottage in Volcano. Still it was an interesting location with plenty of activities to do and sights to see.
Lauri points toward home, some 7000km away, from the most southern tip of Hawaii. South Point was the departure for voyaging canoes heading for New Zealand.

to these holes so that they could fish off South Point without being swept away by the strong currents found here.
